Jamberoo Community Preschool is committed to the implementation of the National Quality Standard, Being, Belonging and Becoming. The Early Years Learning Framework and the Children's Services Regulations and the Code of Ethics. Its educators and management are dedicated to reflective practice and continuous improvement in its relationships with children, families and the wider community. We maintain a high professional standard through this reflective practice, networking, mutual respect, equity, shared communication, training and development and research into current theory and practice. We celebrate the uniqueness of this stage in the young children's lives.
Jamberoo Community Preschool is a not for profit service that caters for children aged 3 - 6 years. Our sustainable environment fosters the imagination and creativity of children and provides learning experiences that engage each child and help reach their individual goals.
In December 2018 we were assessed under the national quality standard as MEETING in all areas which include:
Quality Area 1: Educational Program and Practice - Educators maximise every child’s involvement and learning opportunities by recording observations in the day journal, making modifications to the program to extend and build on children’s interests and by adding resources.
Quality Area 2: Children's Health and Safety - Healthy eating is consistently and actively promoted with children and families. ‘Get up and grow’ publications are available to parents in the library with ‘Munch and Move’ resources displayed. Educators regularly use the resources with the children as part of the curriculum.
Quality Area 3: Physical Environment - Educators use current research when designing the spaces both inside and out to maximise every child’s individual needs, consistently promoting self-initiated play and exploration
Quality Area 4: Staffing arrangements - Professional standards are embedded in practice and outlined in the staff code of conduct. Interactions between educators, the children and their families provide a safe and predictable environment both for children and adults.
Quality Area 5: Relationships with Children - Educators aim to support each child to engage in the program and develop confidence in themselves as learners.
Quality Area 6: collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities - The expertise of families is actively sought and valued and contributes to the service program.
Quality Area 7: Leadership and Service Management - The philosophy guides every aspect of service operation. For example, the environment is clearly reflected in the philosophy such as choice provided to children and structural designs. The inclusion of parents being able to contribute to their children’s learning is clearly documented in the day journal and project books.
